5 Million Dollars for Free

5 Million Dollars 1 Terrabyte, 2011 

Shown at the Art404 experimental online gallery, here. This piece is about the internet and free culture. $5,000,000 sitting in front of you contained within a little black box is a new feeling for me. Yet really, if you have an internet connection, and know the right sites, there is plenty more information available to you with a price tag much larger than that. What I love about this work is that the list of software on the hard drive and links to download the files is included here. Which actually means that this is not a piece pointing at the internet's promotion of free culture, it is free culture.
